Lebohang (Lebo) Mokoena

Lebohang (Lebo) Nthabiseng Mokoena, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on 23 August 2025. Born in Pretoria in 1983, Lebohang lived a life marked by grace, compassion, and quiet strength that inspired all who knew her.

From an early age, Lebohang was known for her gentle spirit and determination. After completing her studies in Social Work at the University of Pretoria, she dedicated her career to uplifting women and children in underserved communities. Her work at the Gauteng Department of Social Development earned her deep respect and admiration – not only for her professionalism, but for the warmth and empathy she brought to every person she served.

Lebohang’s life revolved around family and faith. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Kabelo, and a loving mother to their two children, Naledi and Tumelo. She balanced her many roles with humility and joy – always finding time to cook a favourite meal, offer a word of encouragement, or share laughter with those around her.

Her friends will remember her radiant smile, her love for music and poetry, and her unwavering belief in kindness as a daily practice. She leaves behind a legacy of service, compassion, and quiet leadership that will continue to ripple through her family, her church, and her community.

She is survived by her husband, Kabelo Mokoena; her children, Naledi and Tumelo; her parents, Johannes and Thandi Mokoena; her sisters, Refilwe and Boitumelo; and a host of family and friends whose lives she touched deeply.
